“Love in Progress” - Inhabit Hotels partners with Self Space this Valentine’s Day

This February, urban wellness hotel brand, Inhabit Hotels, is marking Valentine’s Day a little differently. Sweeping aside the traditional rose petals and chocolates, Inhabit is focusing on mental wellbeing, joining forces with contemporary mental health service Self Space to offer a series of therapist-led workshops and events, designed to help us remember that the most important relationship we’ll ever have is with ourselves.

“Our capacity for love is infinite. But it’s always a work in progress. We’ll never ‘complete’ love because we’ll never outrun our human messiness. There will always be more to learn, understand and explore about ourselves and our relationships. Love isn’t linear. But every day that we commit to actively doing the work - on ourselves and our relationships - is a day that love wins.” - Self Space.

This Valentine’s month, “Love in Progress”, a series of events focused on exploring the messy realities of love, held at Inhabit’s two London hotels, provides just the tonic for hearts and minds. Led by Self Space, who launched the world's first on-demand mental health service on the High Street, the events promise a space to realign, nurture awareness and understanding, and explore how to keep doing the work - for ourselves and others.

“We are a constant work in progress, and while I don’t think we should treat ourselves as a never ending problem to solve, staying open and curious to yourself and others gives you the opportunity to understand yourself and the world around you in a 360-degree way that can only enhance your experience of life. We're delighted to be partnering with Inhabit Hotels on our ‘Love in Progress’ series of events, which champion the journey and not the destination.” - comments Jodie Cariss, Founder, Self Space (pictured above).

What Are We Really Talking About? A Workshop for Couples

Inhabit, Queen’s Gardens, W2

Thursday 15th February 2024, 6pm-7.30pm, £50 per couple

Being in a relationship is being in a continuous conversation. Some of the time it's about 'who's doing the dishes?' and "what shall we cook for dinner?", but the rest of the time is about the unsaid, the unheard and the miscommunicated. Self Space report that communication issues are one of the hottest topics up for discussion within couples therapy.

In this intimate 90-minute workshop, Self Space will facilitate space as a small group to investigate what gets in the way of clear communication, delve into how individuals can feel more heard, and discuss how to connect with each other more vulnerably.

Self Reflections. A Workshop for Singles

Inhabit, Queen’s Gardens, W2

Friday 16th February 2024, 6pm-7.30pm, £25 per person

More often than not, we’re taught to look at other people to make us happy. This means that we tend to look at other people's qualities and flaws with a hyper-focused lens. But do we pay the same attention to ourselves and what we bring to relationships? What and how much do we contribute to the emotional connections in our lives? What gets in the way of meaningful bonding, reflection, and personal change?

This 90-minute workshop aims, within a small group setting, to reflect on emotional availability, red flags, and repetitive patterns, designed to improve the relationship with the self, as well as with others.
